It’s been an exciting few weeks with the launch of our online shop and we’ve seen big support from cheese lovers and cheese making (and eating) experts across the board. We have featured in promotions by Jamie Oliver, had articles in national newspapers (Claire Finney in her brilliant article in the Telegraph Food “Texting the butcher and WhatsApping the baker") and taken part in British Cheese Weekender, an online virtual cheese festival, all of which have helped to support not just us, but many small cheese makers across the UK.
If you would like to catch up with our live dairy tour from the British Cheese Weekender or see Jamie talking about our Pitchfork Cheddar and make the ultimate cheese toastie, just take a look at our Instagram.
The Team is back in The Dairy
We are back in production and our team is back in the dairy!
We took the tough decision back in March to stop making cheese after the closure of restaurants and cancellation of key sporting and social events meant that a major part of our customer base disappeared over night.
We had to look at ways in which we could sell our cheese through other avenues, which meant that we very quickly had to learn how to get an online shop up and running.
Everyone who has purchased or promoted our Pitchfork Cheddar and Gorwydd Caerphilly has helped us get back up and running again, it really is entirely down to the fantastic support we have received from all of our customers that has meant we can begin production again and prepare for the future. A very big THANK YOU from the whole team at Trethowan Brothers.
We will keep you updated with events in The Dairy and will be sharing tips on cheese care, tasting notes, recipes and anything cheese related over the coming months.
We have already expanded our online shop and you can now buy our Pitchfork Cheddar and Gorwydd Caerphilly in a range of sizes and weights from our website, along with our Selection Box of both cheeses - a great gift for those cheese lovers in your life.
We will also be expanding our shop range over the coming weeks. Watch this space for news on some new products and great new partnerships with other artisan cheese-makers and in the meantime, keep on eating and helping to save our Great British Cheese!
